The Pio app is a simple yet powerful Warehouse Execution Software that not only manages the automated system but also supports traditional inventory storage and picking from shelves.

Inbound Operation

STORING

• Select compartment type and bins with empty compartments will be queued at the port
• Scan or search for the SKUs to store
• Scan to count items as you put them in the bins or type in the number of items
• Confirm when the compartment is full and a new compartment will be presented immediately
  

PURCHASE ORDERS

• Sync purchase orders from procurement software:
  • Option 1: Combine receiving purchase orders and storing in the same flow at the port
  • Option 2: Use purchase orders as put-away tasks when goods are received in the ERP/WMS
• Select inventory to store based on purchase order or automatically match items to purchase order when scanning items

RETURNS

• Receive, check, and approve returns in the ERP/WMS/Shopify
• Use the Pio storing flow and store returned items in a small compartment
• Compartments with single items will be prioritized for picking to free up space
  

Outbound Operation

PICKING

• Option 1: Pick-pack-ship in one simple step at the workstation to maximize personnel and system utilization
  • Shipping label is automatically printed when the order is completely picked
  • Integration to shipping software is required
    
    
• Option 2: Pick-pack-pass
  • Option to scan and report a tote ID to the WMS together with the order data or print a barcode identifier (license plate) for the order 
  • Integration to shipping software not required
    
    

FLEXIBLE PICKING FLOWS

Picking workflows:

• Orders with items from the grid only
• Orders with items from shelves
• Consolidation of orders with both grid and shelf items
• All types of orders in the same flow

Filter picking session by order channel and/or order tag from ERP/WMS/Shopify. Customize flows and avoid downstream sorting by creating tags in the order channel and filters on Pio based on:

• Shipping carrier
• Express orders
  
• Pick up at warehouse
  
• B2B vs B2C orders
• Work orders for manufacturing

ORDER RULES

• Set order prioritization rules triggered by either order shipping method, store/order channel, or order tag
• Rules include setting cut-off times, picking within/after time slot, express pick, and block orders
• Allow partial fulfillment of orders with out-of-stock items, or hold them until all items are back in stock

Shelf Operation

SHELF BATCH PICKING

• Pio supports storing and picking from shelves
• Choose the number of shelf orders to pick or choose specific orders
• Pio will optimize the picking route and allow you to pick multiple orders in one wave, batching SKUs when possible
  
• Bring the trolley with picked items to a workstation for packing and shipping or to a port for consolidation with grid items

CONSOLIDATION

• When all shelf items in an order are picked, grid items in the same order are made available for order consolidation
• Place the trolley with shelf-picked items next to a port
• Start the consolidation flow from the Pio app
• Pick and pack from both port and trolley

GRID REPLENISHMENT

• Set min/max qty per SKU for the grid
• Pio auto-generates replenishment list from backstock based on min/max settings, prompting operators to refill the grid from shelf locations
  
  

Housekeeping

SEARCH

• Search for bins, SKUs, and kits to view detailed stock info
  
• View all locations for a SKU
• View all SKUs in a bin or shelf location
  
• View history to audit stock changes by user and flows
• Request a queue of bins to the port
• Inspect or update inventory the port  

MOVE

• Make a “shopping cart” of SKUs you want to move from one storage location to another
• Supports transfers between shelf, bin, and external warehouse locations (if enabled integration)
• Move flow to pick from source location and store to target location
