BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER MERELYN ØGLÆND RADIATES AT PIO WITH HER KEEN INTUITION AND STRONG DETERMINATION. PEEK INTO HER DAY AS SHE TAKES ON NEW CHALLENGES, HANGS WITH HER SWEET PUP, AND MAKES TIME FOR SELF-EXPRESSION THROUGH HER STUNNING ART PRACTICE.

I have two different daily routines. The first one is when I work at the office located in Stavanger. I live in Sandnes, and during typical rush hour traffic, it takes me around 45 minutes each way, or sometimes even more. However, the beauty of working at Pio is that I have the possibility to work from home on certain days, usually Tuesdays and Fridays.

On a typical day when I go to the office, I usually wake up around 6:30 am. I am not a breakfast person, so I just start my day with a cup of coffee at around 8:30. I like to use my first hour to check my emails, read the work chat, and decide which podcast I will listen to while I work. Normally, I listen to podcasts from my home country, the Dominican Republic, to stay connected to my roots and know what’s going on there.

When listening to music, I go for Adele, Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles and others.

At work, we typically eat around 11:00 am, which is a bit early for my taste, but it's always good to share a meal with colleagues, so I join them. Our lunch spot is far from the ordinary work canteen; dining there is always an experience. And a nice change of environment.

My days are always unpredictable, as I work directly with potential clients, and anyone can book me for a meeting. Some days can be dedicated to office work, while others may involve spending most of my hours talking to clients and giving demos of our system. I enjoy the chance to meet individuals from all over the globe, gaining insights into their logistic operations and the challenges they face. It's a fantastic opportunity to introduce them to our exceptional warehouse automation system.

As for my home office days, I have to admit that even though I like my colleagues, I kinda love my dog more. I get to work next to the most loving little creature, Timmy. He has his routines, so at around 7:45 am he joins me for my morning coffee.

We sit in front of my house's big windows to look outside and get all the energy I need to start the day.

At around 11:00 am, my dog’s internal clock kicks in, and he starts begging for his morning walk. So after a short walk around the neighborhood, we come back and have a quick lunch.

I love skipping the crazy traffic when working from home, which allows me to save time and dedicate more hours of my day to my art studio.
